ADR Beyond Arbitration: Tools, Practice and Real-World Use
ICC United Kingdom is pleased to host its first Arbitration & ADR Masterclass of 2026, convening senior practitioners, institutional representatives and in-house leaders to examine how ADR is being deployed as a strategic business tool in complex international disputes.
ADR is no longer a secondary option. In 2026, sophisticated users are embedding dispute prevention, early intervention and hybrid mechanisms directly into contract architecture and commercial strategy. This masterclass will explore how and why that shift is happening.
The programme will address:
-
Designing dispute prevention and early resolution mechanisms for strategic advantage
-
The realities of hybrid processes, when Med-Arb strengthens leverage and when it creates structural or due process risk
-
Drafting for enforceability and tactical flexibility
-
Executive-level perspectives on when ADR genuinely adds value, and when it erodes credibility
-
Sector-specific approaches across construction, energy, trade, financial services and technology
Drawing on institutional insight from ICC, practitioner experience and board-level perspectives, the session will examine what makes ADR succeed in practice, why some mediations collapse before they begin, and how leading organisations are reshaping dispute resolution frameworks to manage commercial risk more effectively.
This masterclass is designed for in-house counsel, private practice lawyers, arbitrators and dispute resolution professionals seeking a forward-looking, strategic understanding of ADR in today’s international environment.
Full programme and speaker announcements will follow shortly. Registrations are now open and early booking is recommended due to limited capacity.
