Corporate Counsel Subcommittee Meeting | 26 March 2025
The Corporate Counsel Subcommittee has been created to provide a private and confidential space exclusively for lawyers working in corporate and public sector legal departments, under the auspices of the ICC United Kingdom Arbitration & ADR Committee. As end users of arbitration, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Discuss best practices in arbitration, mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) management;
- Share experience and recommendations;
- Provide feedback and comments on arbitration, mediation, and ADR institutions in general, and specifically on ICC dispute resolution services;
- Receive updates on arbitration, mediation, and ADR topics of interest to the in-house community;
- Gain understanding of the procedures of the ICC International Court of Arbitration and the initiatives of both the Local and Global ICC Arbitration & ADR Commissions;
- Expand their professional network.
The Corporate Counsel Subcommittee will meet 2-3 times a year on a hybrid basis. Discussions will focus on practical matters such as cost efficiency, aligning business objectives with legal strategies, engaging law firms and experts, appointing arbitrators, exploring dispute resolution methods, risk analysis, accounting treatments, and other topics of interest to participants. No prior preparation is required, and the time commitment is estimated at a maximum of two hours per meeting.
The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, 26 March 2025, at Anglo American from 9:30 am-11:00 am GMT.
Claudia Salomon, the President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, will be present. The meeting is therefore an opportunity for in-house lawyers to share their perspectives on international dispute resolution directly with her.
