ICC United Kingdom Roundtable: Corporate Boards Navigating a Human Rights Landscape Reshaped by Geopolitical and Technological Shifts

Human rights are increasingly becoming a board-level strategic issue, as businesses navigate geopolitical uncertainty, regulatory change, supply chain disruption and rapid technological transformation.

This ICC United Kingdom roundtable will bring together senior business leaders, legal and sustainability professionals and other key stakeholders to explore how companies can build resilience while maintaining responsible business practices across global operations and supply chains.

The discussion will examine the impact of geopolitical tensions and regulatory divergence on global supply chains, evolving expectations around human rights due diligence, and the shift from modern slavery towards a broader decent work and labour rights agenda. It will also consider how businesses can embed human rights into governance, procurement and wider decision-making.

A further focus will be the emerging human rights implications of AI and technological transformation, including the impact on jobs, vulnerable workers, supply chain visibility and the future of work.

The roundtable will provide an opportunity for participants to share practical experiences, identify areas where greater policy coherence is needed, and discuss how boards can move beyond compliance towards meaningful and responsible business outcomes.
