ICC United Kingdom announces appointment of new Board Members

ICC United Kingdom has announced the appointment of five new members to its Board, strengthening leadership across trade finance, energy, digital technology and competition policy.

Lord Holmes of Richmond MBE is a member of the House of Lords and is a leading voice on technology legislation, including artificial intelligence, digital assets and electronic trade. He played a central role in the Electronic Trade Documents Act, sits on the Special Public Bill Committee for the Property (Digital Assets etc) Bill, has co-authored Lords reports on Democracy and Digital Technologies (2020), Artificial Intelligence (2018) and Digital Skills (2015), and advises several tech and fintech companies.

Greg Jackson CBE, Founder and CEO of Octopus Energy Group, is a serial technology entrepreneur who brings deep experience scaling clean energy innovation and technology. In under 10 years he has grown Octopus from start-up to a global operator serving 10 million customers in 32 countries, managing over £7bn renewables portfolio and licensing the Kraken technology to serve more than 70 million accounts worldwide. As a key thought leader in the UK on the energy transition and innovation, Greg has been named a Time 100 Climate Leader, awarded a CBE for services to the energy industry, and serves as a Non-Executive Board Member of the UK Cabinet Office.

John Davies, Senior Adviser at Brunswick, is a leading competition policy expert. A former Freshfields partner who founded its Brussels office and co-led the global competition practice, and previously a case officer at the European Commission’s DG Competition, he advises on complex mergers and foreign investment reviews and has received Global Competition Review’s Antitrust Lawyer of the Year and Lifetime Achievement awards.

Saif Malik, UK CEO and Head, Client Coverage at Standard Chartered. He joined the Bank in 2006 and has led major client businesses across Africa, the Middle East and Asia, including as Regional Co-Head of Global Banking for Africa & the Middle East and Global Head of the multinational corporate business. He also serves on the boards of UK Finance and BritishAmerican Business.

Surath Sengupta is Managing Director and Head of Transaction Banking Products at Lloyds Corporate & Institutional, leading product strategy across payments, cash management, trade finance and working capital. He previously served on HSBC’s global Trade and Receivables Finance board and is Vice-Chair of the ICC Global Banking Commission.

In parallel with these Board appointments, John Davies also joins the Finance Committee, Saif Malik joins the Finance Committee, and Surath Sengupta has been appointed Co-Chair of the Policy and Network Committee.
